The Leduc Black Gold Optimists welcome you to our site!

Purpose of the Black Gold Optimist Club of Leduc :

To develop Optimism as a philosophy of life.
To promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs.
To inspire respect for law.
To promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people.
To aid and encourage the development of youth; in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of humankind, the community, and the world.

The Black Gold Optimist Club of Leduc was established in 1995 and we are associated with the Dinner Optimist Club of Edmonton which was started in 1925 ( the second oldest existing Optimist Club in Canada ).
The two clubs assist each other in programs, activities and fundraising. Thus, the Leduc, Edmonton and area communities benefit from our joint efforts and other Optimist clubs in the region.

YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN !

Our group of men and women volunteers welcome anyone with similar interests to join us in working to assist and improve our youth and communities.

Regular meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month (except July and August for summer) at Smitty's Restaurant Leduc, in the back room section. Those wishing to personally order food / dinner should arrive at 6:30 - 7:00pm; with the actual meeting to start at 7:30pm.

We are always seeking new members to present and expand ideas, programs, activities and assist in our fundraising endeavours.  Please use the contact list to communicate with us.

Any persons wishing to find out what our club is all about, and what we do, are WELCOME to attend.

Our volunteer Optimist Club is focused on Youth ("Bringing Out The Best In Kids") and Community.
As a nondenominational, non-partisan organization, we are open to anyone for membership.

The great majority of our raised funds go to Donations and Youth and Community oriented Programs & Activities. A minimum is taken up by administration expenses.

Personally trying to make a difference.
